We arrived here on the 5th of January and will stay 6 weeks. This campground is tucked along the shore of Perdido Bay which feeds into the Gulf opposite Pensacola, Florida. It a pretty spot with beach access for the dogs – who have taken advantage of their version of water sports. There are maybe 100 sites – ours until Feb 1 is an end spot with a wooden deck and swing. No neighbors on one side means it’s a generous size. Early every morning tiny acorns fall from the live oak overhead waking us up with a few “ping” sounds that we are used to now. Weather has gotten warmer – first week we were part of the cold snap with temps of 40-45 degrees. This weekend we are back in 70’s. Sun is warm and envigorating when not cloud covered. It’s great to be warm in January!

We have visited the Gulf beaches along Orange Beach and sampled the seafood at a few beachside spots.
Dolphins fed and frolicked while we enjoyed lunch at the Hangout. They are hard to see in photo but we could see them jumping and enjoying their lunch.

The Hangout had unusual decor – including an arch with Hot Wheels cars in all colors. Food was fab as was service – we will hit this place again while we are here.
